We will be hosting the SOAP Project here at LVCN for their “Soap Up the Super Bowl” event. We are not just hosting; we are also invited to join them that day in attending and participating.
Human Trafficking is the second leading crime in the United States and the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. Las Vegas is one of the top cities for this crime. Large events like this year’s Super Bowl increase the opportunity for our children to become victimized.
They need volunteers to help label bars of soaps and makeup remover wipes for the hotels/motels in and around the Las Vegas area ahead of the Super Bowl this year. Then, there will be a seminar in the Worship Center with their founder - Theresa Flores. During this process you will receive training on how to recognize the signs of human trafficking.
Afterward, for those who wish, we will deliver the labeled soaps, wipes, educational materials and missing teen posters and distribute them across the huge amount of hotels in the Las Vegas area. You can register by email: info@soapproject.org or scan the provided QR Code (provided in the pic above) to sign up and for more information. Flyers are available in the Worship Center foyer to give out to folks who might be interested in volunteering.
The following age requirements do apply to this event:
Anyone can be there at the beginning to help label the items
The presentation is for ages 12+
The distribution portion is for ages 16+ (this will go longer than 1:00 pm)
